We are greatly encouraged that more Christians have entered full-time gospel ministry and more churches are becoming recruitment minded as a result of our work.
Our immediate challenge is that our work could begin to shrink, or even cease, due to a lack of funds. Our work only costs around £30,000 - £35,000 annually but must all be raised from donations.
In the current financial climate we are particularly struggling because a number of standing orders have been cancelled. Currently, each year we run three conferences, which aim to cover their costs. That leaves other activities and costs mainly consisting of ‘widening the net', resourcing the 9:38 network with a regular newsletter and the website, and paying for a part-time administrator. In this unsettling time we are trying to lay a firmer foundation for our finances to ensure that, while we are a service to the local church, we will be able to continue in this vital ministry.
