Children's Ministry Apprentice 2010-2011

Where?

North Kensington - a family area near Notting Hill: close enough to the centre of London to have easy access to everything; far enough away to have its own distinctive flavour and a sense of community.

St Helen's Church - a local church, reflecting the diversity of the area, both socially and ethnically. We seek to love God and to love people (so to love God's word & to live and speak for Jesus in our neighbourhood). Currently 60 or so adults and 15 or so children.

What?

The core of the job is to invest in the children involved in our existing Sunday Club and twice weekly ‘Boy's Brigade' (for boys & girls!). There is also the opportunity of school assemblies and input into the other groups that meet in the building: Cubs and the ‘First Steps' crèche.

As well as personal supervision and discipleship, there would be time for study and we would look for the right training opportunity for you: either with the Cornhill Training Course or with the Co-Mission apprentice training programme.

Why here?

Ideal for someone who wants to be trained in a ‘hands-on' way - taking on spiritual responsibility (as appropriate) and getting stuck into a multi-cultural context with a good number of the children from less wealthy, less able backgrounds.

How Much?

We'll cover accommodation, plus an allowance to cover the basic cost of living (food, travelling costs etc). We'll also cover the costs of relevant training, conferences and camps.
