Talks

Richard Coekin will give three Bible talks on Christian leadership on passages from the New Testament. These will be supplemented by three practical Bible talks from other church leaders from around the country. These talks are the foundation of the conference and will outline what it is that God wants in Christian leaders in our gospel mission.

Teaching Skills Groups

Each apprentice will be in a small group which will a number of times throughout the conference. Each apprentice will give a short talk on a specified Bible passage, which relates to the topic of the conference, ‘The Christian Leader' and the area of mission. They will then receive feedback from the leader of the group (who will be trained and in full-time gospel ministry) and the rest of the group. The aim is to sharpen our Bible handling and teaching skills, whilst learning from God's word.

For some, this may seem like a scary prospect, or inconvenient (to spend time on) at a busy time of year.  But this part of the conference is consistently quoted as being the most useful, even for those who are regularly involved in this type of workshop at a regional ministry training course.

Prayer Groups

At other times the above groups meet to pray through what has been raised in the Bible talks and specific things from each apprentices' placement.
