The All Souls Ministry Training Scheme is for men and women who want to be equipped to be gospel workers wherever God calls them.

About All Souls Langham Place

All Souls is a large, vibrant, international, evangelical Anglican church located in the heart of London. Our vision is to grow an international community to reach a multicultural society for Christ. We aim to do this by nurturing and developing disciples of Christ who are equipped to live and speak for Jesus in their societies, workplaces, homes and communities.

As a church, we are committed to the Bible as God’s authoritative Word and the preaching and teaching of the Word infuses all our ministry. The Gospel also shapes every aspect of our vision, aims and life.

Joining All Souls means joining a church with a number of unique ministry opportunities. Our church family is made up of people from over 60 different nationalities which provides cross-cultural experiences and insight into the global church. We are also located in a diverse local area. On our doorstep we have both cultural and educational institutions, and yet there is also great social need. This gives a chance to teach and apply the gospel in a number of different contexts.

About the Role

Aims of the scheme

The All Souls Ministry Training scheme has been developed to provide a more intensive training in gospel ministry for those showing leadership potential. Our aim is to equip and release the next generation of Christian leaders - in both the church and wider society.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for men and women to join us who are committed to Christ, who are servant-hearted and who are growing in Christian maturity. Applicants must already be involved in serving their local church or CU and have some proven ministry experience (e.g. leading a small Bible study group). They must also be recognised as having potential for future leadership and gospel ministry.

The main components of the scheme

  • Formal study: Tuesday training days focus on studying and teaching the Bible, understanding and applying Christian doctrine and discussing practical ministry issues. Each trainee also chooses a personal project to work on during the year. A national conference and a study week are included.
  • Ministry experience: On-the-job experience working primarily within one of the church ministries. Opportunities to study the Bible with others and share in the responsibilities of running a ministry. Ministries include children’s and youth work, student ministry, evangelism and discipleship, and more.
  • Mentored supervision: Regular mentoring with a member of the ministry team.
  • Practical service: Some basic set-up responsibilities to serve the church family.
  • Spiritual Formation: There is a focus on spiritual formation throughout the scheme.

Characteristics of the Scheme

  • One or two years: September – mid-July
  • Full or part time: If part-time, a maximum of 2 days outside of All Souls is feasible (in addition to one day off)
