A Ministry Training Scheme at a growing local church in Kensington longing to plant the gospel in hearts and homes, with the chance to join the Cornhill training course.
About Christ Church Kensington
Christ Church Kensington is a church family in the heart of London welcoming people from all walks of life, and pointing them to the good news of Jesus Christ.
About the Role
In light of desperate gospel need, our aim is to play our part under God in raising up the next generation of men and women for a lifetime of gospel service: growing in godliness and conviction, rightly handing the word of God, and serving God and his people.
Our Ministry Trainees receive training in bible handling and teaching through the Cornhill Training Course, individual mentoring by a member of church staff, experience of both ministry and the practical day-to-day running of the church.
In Year One, most of our MTs will attend the F1 part of the Cornhill Training Course, lead small group bible studies and 121s, and be responsible for a practical aspect of running a church.
We hope most of our MTs will stay for a second year to do F2 at Cornhill, along with having ownership of an area of ministry within the life of Christ Church (for example pioneering a new ministry area, running evangelism programmes), and being equipped through their first year, lead services and preach occasionally.
As part of a small ministry team, our MTs have a real voice in review and planning, and have the opportunity to gain experience in leading small group Bible studies, reading the Bible one-to-one and giving talks. Our main areas of ministry cover: students, young workers, families, and youth and children.
We ask Ministry Trainees to raise their own finances but support is also available dependent on your circumstances.
Start date: 27 August 2019.
How to Apply
In the first instance, we ask that you chat with your current church leader about your suitability for such a scheme. Then, with their backing, contact Greg for an application form, or to arrange a visit beforehand. Once we have received your application form, we would generally ask you to visit us one Sunday, before then offering an interview.
