It’s easy to get into the habit of thinking that “gospel ministry” is just for the elite Christians or just for those employed by the church. Sometimes we talk about “going into gospel ministry” as if we’re not currently doing ministry. However, if you’re a Christian, you can’t get off that lightly!
We make a big point at our conferences to say first of all that “gospel ministry” is something that all Christians are called to do. Yes, some are paid to do it, some do it full-time, some part-time and some in their spare time. But we are all commanded to be spreading the gospel, growing in our faith and making disciples.
