Our Vision
Our vision is to be a neighbourhood church who love Jesus, love neighbour, grow disciples and plant churches. Our new Director of Music will provide gospel-centered music for our church, in order that we might ‘sing to the Lord’ (Psalm 149), and ‘let the message of Christ dwell among [us] richly’ through singing (Colossians 3). We particularly want to love Jesus more, and we see music as a wonderful gift from God to help us. We would love a Director of Music who is skilled and passionate about doing this.
The Role
- Leading a band at our 11am Service of the Word, directing volunteer musicians and training them to lead worship themselves.
- Playing the organ and leading the sung liturgy at our 9.30am Church of England Communion service.
- Leading music at one-off seasonal events, e.g. our Christmas Carol Extravaganza, Candlelit Carols, Christmas Eve Midnight Carols, Christmas Day Communion, Good Friday Meditation or Easter Family Fun.
- Loving Jesus and helping us all love Jesus more through music.
Experience
- Experience of leading contemporary worship bands is essential. If the candidate is not very experienced on the organ they should at least be a pianist with a willingness to learn.
- It is a genuine occupational requirement that the Director of Music is a Christian who is aligned with our statement of faith.
