Our 7 PAs are part of a close-knit Chaplaincy team, supported and led by the Chaplain and Assistant Chaplains. Each PA works closely with a particular Boarding House (led by Christian houseparents).
Their key duty is to act as role models and evangelists, pastorally supporting and assisting the pupils of the school in Boarding Houses and across the wider school. As a School, we are committed to providing excellent training and development for our PAs both in Christian ministry (in School and via the South Central Gospel Partnership Ministry Training Course) and in teaching (including seminars, mentoring and classroom experience).
The PA roles would be suitable for recent graduates who would like to be involved in sport, music, and other aspects of the life of a busy boarding school, as well as in the very active informal Christian life (CUs, summer camps etc). It is particularly appropriate for those considering a longer-term career in teaching or Christian work. There is also opportunity for suitable PAs to continue for a second year with a greater emphasis on teaching experience or other specific ministry roles in a School context. The school has been delighted to retain a number of former PAs as teaching staff over the years.
