We are a small evangelical church (7 members, 8 young people) located in St. Ives, Cornwall. Yet we have a big ambition to see the Lord work powerfully in and through us. Our local Peninsula Gospel Partnership has the vision of seeing a Christ-centered, Bible-teaching, people-loving church available to every community in Devon and Cornwall. And we want to play our part in that at Zion Community Church, which means that we are looking to the Lord to become established – to be a church of 30 people in 3 years time, self- sufficient financially and able to make an impact locally and regionally with the gospel.

We are looking to appoint a ministry trainee to support our vision. The programme is, to a certain extent, adaptable depending on the gifts and abilities of the person. At this stage, however, we expect it to include the following elements:

  • Active participation in the life of the church: Sunday services, mid-week meetings, prayer meetings, outreach initiatives.
  • Youth work: helping to lead Sunday school, Tuesday Club (5-10s), & Anchored (10-15s).
  • Volunteering in our Christian bookshop which is housed adjacent to the church.
  • Working with the Sierra Leone Mission.
  • Discipling teenagers / visiting church family.
  • Seeking to make disciples of local people.
