Victoria served as a trainee as a suburban church with over 500 members.
What part of your traineeship most encouraged you in your faith, and why?
Weekly quality Bible training equipped me in teaching the Bible to children and young people. Having older, wiser Christians around to answer questions and support me helped me in my faith the most. Weekly supervisions and review meetings helped tremendously.
What particularly challenged you as a ministry trainee?
Serving practically was tiring and sometimes felt like it was "getting in the way" of ministry. But I realise now it was all good training!
Would you recommend becoming a ministry trainee? If so, why?
Yes definitely – with the right support system and Bible training, being a ministry trainee is an excellent way to becoming better equipped while serving "on the job".
What advice would you give to someone just starting out as an ministry trainee?
Keep going – it'll be worth it in the end!
Do you have a 9:38 story? We would love to hear from you!
